Granular cell tumour (Abrikossoff’s tumour): Case series
نویسندگان
چکیده
This case series describes three unreported cases of an uncommon benign neoplasm named Abrikossoff’s tumour or granular cell tumour (GCT). This mesenchymal neoplasm apparently arises from neural or Schwann cell origin with benign and malignant forms. All cases presented here were unique nodules on oral mucosa, coming out from the connective tissue, and occurring in women with age ranging from 30 to 42 years. The histological aspects of the GCT showed large granular cells arranged in groups and nests of connective tissue separating pseudoepitheliomatous overlying surface. This feature can possibly be misunderstood with squamous cell carcinoma. The differentiation between malignant and benign GCT is evaluated by the presence of metastases which is considered the only reliable criterion for malignancy. c 2005 Elsevier Ltd. Abrikossoff’s Tumour Mimicking a Neoplastic Tumour of the Breast: A Case Report
Introduction: Granular cell tumours (GCT), also known as Abrikossoff’s tumours, are rare, and occur in the breast in approximately 5-6% of the cases these tumours are usually benign with only 1% of malignancy. Case Presentation: A 57-year-old Caucasian woman presented with a palpable mass that was growing progressively in the axillary tail of the left breast, with no other associated symptoms, ...

This report presents the findings of TIL development from tumour biopsies of patients with bladder cancer. Analysis of tissue sections showed the presence of T cells in intra-epithelial layer in 8 of 12 cases investigated. In a larger group of patients, TILs were established from 7 of 20 cases and expansion of these cells in Interleukin-2 (IL-2) in the presence of conditioned medium (CM) r...
متن کاملA rare case of ossifying granular cell (Abrikossoff) tumour.
Sir, Granular cell tumours first described by Abrikossoff (1), are uncommon and usually present as small non-tender solitary nodules. We report here for the first time a case of a granular cell tumour with marked osseous metaplasia on the back of a 68-year-old man. The lesion showed typical features of a granular cell tumour, with the unusual feature of prominent bone formation under microscopi...
متن کاملGranular cell astrocytoma. A case report with immunohistochemical and ultrastructural characterization.
Granular cell astrocytoma (GCA) is an uncommon type of granular cell tumours (GCTs) in the central nervous system. Granular cells in these tumours are of enigmatic origin. We report a case of cerebral GCA in a 59-year-old man who suffered from diabetes and Addison-Biermer disease. The tumour was localized in the left parietal lobe. Microscopically, the tumour was almost entirely composed of lar...

Ameloblastoma is an epithelial odontogenic tumour of the jaw and exhibits diverse microscopic patterns which occurs either singly or in combination with other patterns. Granular cells can occur in various odontogenic and non-odontogenic tumours. Granular cell ameloblastoma is a rare variant of ameloblastoma as making up 1 to 5% of all ameloblastomas that histopathologically has numerous large g...
